To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the DC Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
I am writing to request records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. ยง 552. Specifically, I am requesting the FOIA logs maintained by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and or PBS for the past 6 years that identify all FOIA requests received by CPB or PBS during that time period, including the requesters' names, the date the requests were received, a description of the records requested, and the status of each request.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 15 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Jackson Parker

To whom it may concern:
The attached letter from MuckRock News requests the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to furnish your organization the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs maintained by CPB and or PBS for the past six years. Your request is made pursuant to FOIA statutes of the District of Columbia and the United States.
CPB is a private corporation, not an agency of the D.C. or Federal Government. Accordingly, CPB is not subject to the FOIA statutes of either jurisdiction, and it has no FOIA logs. PBS is likewise a private corporation not subject to FOIA, though it is separate from and unafiliated with CPB.
Sincerely,
J. Westwood Smithers, Jr.
