We need clarification regarding the records you are seeking.

OSPI is the primary agency charged with overseeing K-12 public education in Washington State and we work with the state's 295 school districts to administer basic education programs and implement education reform. OSPI provides funding, resources, tools, data, and technical assistance to educators. We are one point of escalation for certain concerns, complaints, and issues; however, in Washington State, school districts are self-governing public entities. OSPI does not maintain internal records, including text messages and emails, for the districts/schools. You will need to contact them for their records.

If you would like to pursue the records you are requesting through the district, let us know and we will close your request. If you would like OSPI to search our records for anything responsive to your request, please let us know and we will process it accordingly.

Pursuant to RCW 42.56.520, this email is the acknowledgement of receipt of your request within five business days. Please note, if we do not receive a response with your clarification within 10 business days, your request will be considered closed per WAC 392-105-070(8).
