Pursuant to the The Kansas Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Please provide records sufficient to show a current staff roster of all sworn employees with your agency.
Please include;
- first and last name of each employee with their corresponding;
- badge number
- employee identification number
- hire date
- rank or position
- assigned duty station/substation/precinct/location
- current salary
This request applies to ALL sworn Department employees, including those at substations.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Good morning City of Wichita, I am writing to respectfully appeal the fees assessed to my request. I understand there is an ordinance to follow and the need to cover administrative costs, but I believe a waiver is appropriate in this case.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, contributing to transparency and understanding of law enforcement operations. This aligns with the public's right to know and fosters a more informed citizenry. This request is not being made for any commercial purpose or profit.
We have obtained the requested information from nearly 1,000 other agencies at no cost. This demonstrates that such requests are routinely fulfilled without imposing financial burdens on requesters.
In consideration of these factors, I'd like to request that the Wichita Police Department waive the fees associated with this request.
Alternatively, if I am able to access an existing agency roster containing some part of the requested information, it could potentially save time and resources for both parties.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this appeal.
