Pursuant to the The Kansas Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
A tabular data file containing all information collected in accordance with Kansas § 22-4611a including but not limited to: date of stop, time of stop, race of driver, gender of driver, age of driver, if search occurred, if contraband was found, anonymized officer ID, and stop location for all years available.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Due to the recent cyber attack and necessary technology being unavailable, the City needs additional time to respond to the request. The request will be delayed until June 13, 2024.

This is in reference to your request for “a tabular data file containing all information collected in accordance with Kansas § 22-4611a” . Because the City of Wichita has created a racial profiling advisory board pursuant to K.S.A. 22-2620(c)(2)(B), it is not required to and does not collect “stop data” . See: K.S.A. 22-4611a. KORA does not require a municipality to create a record. As no record exits that is responsive to your KORA, your KORA is closed. WPD agency reports on racial profiling are available the Kansas Attorney General’s website.
