Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Related to Maryland Code §11-801, which permits counties to impose fees on "weekend incarcerated individuals"; specifically
1. The per diem rate, or daily charge, of the weekend incarceration fee imposed in the county detention/correctional facility both currently and in FY23.
2. The daily “average cost of providing food, lodging, and clothing for an incarcerated individual” in the county detention/correctional facility used to calculate the weekend incarceration fee in FY23.
3. The total number of individuals charged the weekend incarceration fee in the county detention/correctional facility in FY23.
4. The total amount of fees collected from weekend incarcerated individuals in the county detention/correctional facility in FY23.
5. All policies and procedures regarding the imposition and collection of the weekend incarceration fee, including but not limited to guidelines on how these fees are determined and collected in the county detention/correctional facility.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Mr. Byun,
In response to your Maryland Public Information Act request, below and attached is information pertaining to weekend incarcerated individuals. Attached is the Weekender Rules and Regulations, and below are answers to your specific questions along with the Worcester County Jail's policy for split sentenced inmates.
1. The per diem rate, or daily charge, of the weekend incarceration fee imposed in the county detention/correctional facility both currently and in FY23. $12 per day
2. The daily "average cost of providing food, lodging, and clothing for an incarcerated individual" in the county detention/correctional facility used to calculate the weekend incarceration fee in FY23. No record maintained.
3. The total number of individuals charged the weekend incarceration fee in the county detention/correctional facility in FY23. 0
4. The total amount of fees collected from weekend incarcerated individuals in the county detention/correctional facility in FY23. 0
5. All policies and procedures regarding the imposition and collection of the weekend incarceration fee, including but not limited to guidelines on how these fees are determined and collected in the county detention/correctional facility. See attached.
1. Split Sentence Inmates
DEFINITION:
Split Sentence Inmates - Inmates who are sentenced to the Worcester County Jail to serve weekends or other non-consecutive terms of confinement.
1. Split sentence inmates will be processed as all other inmates with two exceptions:
1. Male Split sentence Inmates who have preregistered and have been given a copy of the Weekender Rules and Regulations will report to the Work Release Unit. Any male split sentence inmate who has not preregistered will be housed in intake, oriented and will report the following weekend to the Work Release Unit.
1. Split sentence inmates who arrive for incarceration in an intoxicated condition or who may pose a security problem may be placed in an intake cell at the discretion of the Shift Supervisor.
1. Female Split Sentence inmates who have preregistered and have been a copy of the Weekender Rules and Regulations will report to the Women's Work Release Unit. Any female split sentence inmate who has not preregistered will be housed in the Women's Intake housing, oriented and will report the following weekend to the Women's Work Release unit.

Acceptable property for split sentence inmates includes 2 pr. Underwear, 2 pr. Socks, 2 T- shirts, 2 sports bras,1 pullover sweatshirt, 1 pr. Long underwear, 3 paperback books. Shoes will be placed in a locker for return upon release and the inmate will be
