Formerly SECRET meeting minutes uncovered in the Central Intelligence Agency’s declassified archives show the Agency on the receiving end of an incredibly specific crank call.

In a February 1969 meeting of the CIA’s Executive Committee, Director Richard Helms kicked things off with an anecdote about an Agency employee receiving an anonymous phone call which turned into an obtuse crack about Helms and Federal Bureau of Investigation Director J. Edgar Hoover.

If this unknown pranker is alive and out there somewhere, we ask, in the name of intelligence history, that they please come forward and explain why this was supposed to be funny.
