MuckRock would not exist without the amazing community of requesters that have helped us grow over the years. Many of those requesters are amazing reporters, editors, and researchers who have recently lost their jobs in the recent rounds of newsroom layoffs, and we want to help however we can.

If you’ve been impacted by the recent news industry layoffs, we are offering six months of free “Mini Pro” accounts that let you file and embargo your requests, as well as opportunities for free upcoming training.

The accounts come with five requests per month and offer all the same features as a Pro account: You can embargo requests, use our crowdfunding and crowdsourcing tools, and have your requests tracked simply and automatically no matter where your next career steps take you.

Whether you’ve been a MuckRock user from our earliest days or have never filed a FOIA request, we want to help. We’ll also offer a free virtual training for those new to public records or those wanting to brush up on their skills.

If you already have a MuckRock account, make sure you’re logged in when you fill in the form; if you’re not a current MuckRock user just pick a username and give us your email below. Expect about a week of processing time from your submission.
