Since 2021, MuckRock has been expanding its editorial team and launching projects on the COVID-19 pandemic, air pollution, access to child care and other public service topics with local partner newsrooms.

As we continue this work in 2023, we’re looking to help freelancers, newsrooms and community organizations expand their investigative reporting, FOIA and data work. We’re excited to provide financial support, editing, data and FOIA help to get your public interest stories published. Applications for assistance can be made in conjunction with or separately from our recently expanded Gateway Grant program.

Simply fill out the form with your name, email, newsroom or professional affiliation or freelance and a 500-word description of your idea. There is no deadline and applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
