Pursuant to Maryland's Public Information Act ("PIA"), I hereby request the following records:

Copy of electronics waste disposal and/or electronics waste recycling contracts for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of hard drive shredding and/or hard drive disposal contracts for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of universal waste disposal, including florescent light bulbs and batteries, contracts for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of all procurement records of light bulbs, including Bills of Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of all procurement records of batteries, including Bills of Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of all recycling/disposal records of light bulbs, including Bills of Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of all recycling/disposal records of batteries, including Bills of Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Records of electronics waste, including computers, electronics and TVs, recycled for the previous 2 years including destination of material for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

Copy of Garrett County Schools due diligence policy (or equivalent) for handling end of life electronics. Including criteria for selecting an electronics recycler for all Garrett County Schools facilities.

List or records of any fines, penalties or warnings received by Garrett County Schools in regards to improper disposal of Universal Waste including light bulbs, batteries and electronics.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Below is information you requested from Garrett County Public Schools
regarding E-Waste and Universal Waste. See the 4 attachments and responses

Copy of electronic waste disposal and/or electronics waste recycling
contracts for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities. PC
Renewal: June 2012-2017. See attachment “Garrett Co BOE - PC Renewal
Contract 2012_2017”

Copy of hard drive shredding and/or hard drive disposal contracts for the
previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools facilities. School system
tech department clears the hard drives and sends them to PC Renewal through
the PC Renewal Contract. There are no records available. See attachment
“Garrett Co BOE - PC Renewal Contract 2012_2017”

Copy of universal waste disposal, including fluorescent light bulbs and
batteries, contracts for previous 2 years for all Garrett County Schools
facilities. There are no records. Bulbs and batteries are thrown away in
the trash.

A copy of all procurement records of light bulbs, including Bills of
Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for the previous 2 years for all
Garrett County Schools facilities. See attachments: “Scott Electric
Purchase Orders 2013-15” and “Johnson Control Performance Contract 2013-14”
(materials we still use provided by Johnson Controls).

A copy of all procurement records of batteries, including Bills of Lading,
Shipping Documents and Invoices for the previous 2 years for all Garrett
County Schools facilities. There are no records. There is no one supplier
of batteries. The procurement process is not centralized.

Copy of all recycling/disposal records of light bulbs, including Bills of
Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for previous 2 years for all
Garrett County Schools facilities. There are no records.

Copy of all recycling/disposal records of batteries, including Bills of
Lading, Shipping Documents and Invoices for previous 2 years for all
Garrett County Schools facilities. There are no records.

Records of electronics waste, including computers, electronics and TVs,
recycled for the previous 2 years, including the destination of material
for all Garrett County Schools facilities. See attachment “Electronic
Waste Certificates 2013-15” for certificates of disposal.

Copy of Garrett County Schools due diligence policy (or equivalent) for

no policy developed by the school system.

List or records of any fines, penalties or warnings received by Garrett
County Schools in regards to improper disposal of Universal Waste including
light bulbs, batteries and electronics. There have been no fines,
penalties, or warnings. Therefore, there are no records.

Copies of Pollution Insurance for PC Renewal. (the districts computer
recycler): Attached is a scanned copy of an email PC Renewal received from
the WV DEP in Charleston, WV, regarding the fact that PC Renewal is not
required to have this type of insurance.

Copies of General Liability Insurance of PC Renewal (the schools computer
recycler): Attached is a scanned copy of PC Renewal's General Liability
Insurance.

Copies of Professional Liability Insurance of PC Renewal (the schools
computer recycler): PC Renewal does not have this type of insurance.
