Hello Ms. Allred,

Can you please clarify the last message received from Salt Lake City regarding this request? Clarification was provided to you, and the sentence received today "The records have been waiting for clarification for 10 business days" does not make sense in light of the most recent messages sent to your office, nor does there appear to be any mention of a ten-day timeframe of any type in the communication thread.

Thank you very much for your help!

From: Allred, Candee

Sorry – please disregard this message. It is an automated response that I have rectified in the system.

Mr. Miller,
I wanted to update you as to your request.  I have been in communication with our IT people and they are still processing this request.  There are approximately 30 detectives whose emails need to be retrieved from the archive system.  I have pressed for a completion time and will pass that on to you when I receive that information, hopefully this week.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Miller: Your request has been researched and the documents you requested are in the “Attachment” section of the Public Records Center where you made your initial request. The emails of 32 detectives were searched for the term “Juggalo” or “Juggalos”. You are being provided a copy of the documents pursuant to Utah Code Ann. Sec 63G-2-301. Please be advised that some information has been classified as protected documents pursuant to Utah Code Ann. Sec 63G-2-305(11) in that the release of information would jeopardize the life or safety of an individual. This protected information has been redacted from the report. Please be advised that during the 2010 time period, some of the detectives were also involved in the Metro Gang Unit which consisted of numerous agencies working together on a gang task force. There may be further documentation that originated from that agency. You may contact Lt. Marianne Suarez, Metro Gange Unit, at 801-599-6947 or at msuarez@updsl.org for any additional information that agency may have regarding Juggalos. Please be advised that SLCPD detectives are no longer involved in the Metro Gang task force. If you are dissatisfied with Salt Lake City's response to your request, you may appeal to the City's Chief Administrative Officer by filing a written notice with the City Recorder within 30 calendar days after the date of this letter, pursuant to Utah Code Ann. Sec 63G-2-401. The notice of appeal must state your name, mailing address and daytime telephone number and the relief you seek. The City requests that you also include a copy of your GRAMA request, if applicable. You may include a short statement of facts, reasons, and legal authority in support of your appeal. The address of the City Recorder is P.O. Box 145515, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5515. I appreciate your patience in the completion of this request. It was time intensive to retrieve the emails from our archive system. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to contact me by email or at 801-799-3871. Sincerely, Candee Allred GRAMA Coordinator SLCPD
