Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Public court records show that CBP Agent Gilberto Velez filed an EEOC complaint in case HS-CBP-02097-2020 in August 2020. The same court records allege that Velez has received several reprisals after his colleagues learned about the complaint. The court records can be found here: https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/68209604/1/gilberto-v-united-states-government/
Therefore, I request the following records:
1) The aforementioned EEOC complaint in case HS-CBP-02097-2020.
2) The complete file of case HS-CBP-02097-2020.
3) Any communications, messages, emails, and attachments concerning case HS-CBP-02097-2020 and the investigation of the aforementioned complaints and notifications.
To help limit the extent of the responsive documents, please limit search from Jan 1, 2020 through Jan , 2023. Please deliver these documents on a rolling basis as responsive documents are found.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. It will be used in the course of reporting for Heavy Weather, an independent journalism outlet based in Puerto Rico. (heavyweather.ghost.io)
