Your request for WSU records is not confidential. All Public Records Requests are public records. The records responsive to a request may contain names, identifiers, or information about other people (such as employees, former employees, students, former students, or third parties). WSU may send a notice to people named in the records informing them that their name, identifiers, or other information about them will be disclosed under the Public Records Act and provide them sufficient time in which to seek legal counsel to determine whether to file a motion in Whitman County Superior Court to enjoin disclosure. When we send such notices to people named in records, we also provide a copy of the request with the notice.

Please contact this office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Public Records Office

Hi there

A document has been released for record request #21-401 along with the following message:

Dear Requester:

Records responsive to your Public Records Request are available at https://wsu.nextrequest.com

No documents have been withheld under any claim of exemption under the Public Records Act (RCW 42.56).

Please note: WSU Police Department has provided a document with reported alcohol, drug, and sexual assault offenses. It provides the Date Reported, Case Number, Call Nature (this is what was reported to dispatch when the case was generated - not necessarily the offense/crime that the officer determined after investigating), and the offense code. Also included is a list of the offense codes and a list of residence hall addresses to assist as a key for WSU campus locations. If additional details are needed they will need to be requested on a case-by-case basis since there is not a way to provide all of the information requested in a single report.

This concludes the University's 1st installment of our response to your request for public records.

We hope to complete our review of the 2nd installment of records responsive to your Public Records Request and respond to you by April 15, 2022, however, more time may be necessary.

Please contact this office if you have any questions.
