1. Written or electronic communications to and from the City of Chicago Department of Business and Economic Development and the Chicago Department of Planning from Jan. 1, 2016, through today (September 21, 2021) relating or referring to the Opportunity Zones program created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and its relationship to the community of Englewood (Census tracks 6801 through 6814).

2. Written or electronic communications or other records from Jan. 1, 2016, through today (September 21, 2021) relating or referring to potential investments in designated opportunity zones in Englewood (Census tracks 6801 through 6814) and or Qualified Opportunity Zones businesses in the state of Illinois located in said Chicago-based census tracks.

3. Written or electronic communications or other records from January 1, 2018, through today (September 21, 2021) relating or referring to ongoing or proposed development projects in the Englewood neighborhood (Census tracks 6801 through 6814).

4. A written list or electronic communication or other related records identifying all upcoming and proposed development projects in Englewood proposed after January 1, 2010, through today's date (September 21, 2021), and the status of said project.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, we would be grateful if you would inform us of the total charges in advance of fulfilling our request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available, or CD-ROM if not.

On behalf of the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development, I am responding to September 23, 2021. At this time, I am seeking an extension of five additional working days to respond to the request for one or more of the following reasons identified in 5 ILCS 140/3(e) of FOIA:

() the requested records are stored in whole or in part at other locations than the office having charge of the requested records;
( ) the request requires the collection of a substantial number of specified records;

( ) the request is couched in categorical terms and requires an extensive search for the records responsive to it;
( ) the requested records have not been located in the course of routine search and additional efforts are being made to locate them;
( ) the requested records require examination and evaluation by personnel having the necessary competence and discretion to determine if they are exempt from disclosure under Section 7 of the FOIA or should be revealed only with appropriate deletions;
(x) the request for records cannot be complied with by the public body within the time limits prescribed by 5 ILCS 140/3(d) without unduly burdening or interfering with the operations of the public body;
(x ) there is need for consultation, which shall be conducted with all practicable speed, with another public body or among two or more components of a public body having a substantial interest in the determination or in the subject matter of the request.
