Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of any invitation to the Governor to speak at the May 2024 commencement and any subsequent correspondence.
Any memos or talking points issued related to Youngkin's appearance.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for providing us with a date range. I am writing to let you know
that, due to the overall volume of requests and staff availability, VCU
requires the additional seven work days allowed for response pursuant to
Code of Virginia ยง 2.2-3704(B)(4) as it is not practically possible to
provide the requested records or determine whether or not they are
available within the five work day period. You can expect a response by no
later than close of business Monday, April 15. However, we will send a

As you know, this office received your request for information below. You
have asked for (1) a copy of any invitation to the Governor to speak at the
May 2024 commencement and any subsequent correspondence; and (2) any memos
or talking points issued related to Youngkin's appearance. VCU interprets
item 1 of your request to be for a copy of the invitation to the Governor
to speak at VCU's May 2024 commencement and any subsequent correspondence
with the Governor's office concerning the invitation. See the attached
Item 1 for records responsive to this request. For item 2, VCU interprets
your request to be for any memos or talking points issued internally by VCU
administration concerning the Governor's appearance at commencement since
1/1/23. Attached as Item 2 is an email sent by VCU's Vice President of
Enterprise Marketing and Communications to VCU deans and other leaders that
is responsive to this part of your request. Thank you.
