To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

1. Documents, spreadsheets, records, meeting minutes, and other materials representing, detailing, or explaining the budget of the Detroit Public Schools Community District Police Department (the “Department”) from fiscal years 2015-2016 through 2019-2020. As context, the budget referenced in this item is the one that Mr. Jeremy Vidito explained on a call with me on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 5:05pm must be requested in writing and which information was supplemented by Mr. Vidito in the attached email exchange.

2. Documents, spreadsheets, records, meeting minutes, and other materials representing, detailing, or explaining expenditures related to the maintenance and operation of 8500 Cameron Street, Detroit, MI 48211, being the headquarters of the Department.

3. An organizational chart or any other documents, spreadsheets, records, or other materials containing information about the names, titles, or reporting relationships of executive, director, or managerial level personnel for the Department.

4. A list or any other documents, spreadsheets, records, or other materials showing all contracts with third parties for services overseen or managed by the Department, including any contracts for security personnel (e.g., Securitas) or support services.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

I wanted to follow up on the following Michigan Freedom of Information Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on July 2, 2020. I received the letter, dated July 13, 2020, from Cash D. Caldwell requesting an additional 10 business days. That letter provided that we would receive a response on or before July 27, 2020; we have not yet received that response. I also received a telephone call from Kimberly McGary, DPSCD Associate General Counsel, regarding several clarifying questions. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.

We have not received your deposit check. Once we are in receipt of the deposit we will notify you via email and provide a 2-week window from that date, for completion of request. I know that you sent an email a few weeks ago, however, due to the fee being assessed, we cannot complete your request at this time without deposit. We get mail a few times a week, not sure what is taking it so long.
