I am conducting a comprehensive study into the methods that various administrations used in setting up presidential events and preparing/advancing locations to receive Presidents of the United States. In most recent administrations, an Office of Scheduling and Advance, Office of Scheduling, Office of Advance, Travel Office (or other similarly titled unit serving a similar function) was tasked with these responsibilities. To facilitate the work of the Presidential Advance Team’s and to serve as a training guide for both White House staffers and volunteers, a manual, handbook or series of documents and checklists would be created from scratch, adapted for use from the campaign period or simply update an existing document from a previous administration. I am requesting those original documents, any revised or subsequent versions of those documents, as well as any other materials that relate to setting up presidential events or advancing a presidential visits domestically and internationally.
