This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

I seek all emails that were sent and received by the Department of Defense Public Web Service Desk between April 1, 2016 and July 21, 2016, including all emails sent and received by Gregory Pugh, Wendy Butler, and James Garrett during the aforementioned interval.

It is not evident to me which sub-agency the Department of Defense (DoD) Public Web Service Desk reports to, so I would appreciate it if you could forward this FOIA request to the appropriate branch of the DoD for processing.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I am an academic researcher, currently affiliated with the Harvard Law School as well as the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. As such, I ask that all fees be waived for this request, given that this request is being made for exclusively educational purposes. I intend to make all requested documents tied to this request available to the general public and also plan to incorporate them into my academic work.

In the event that there are fees (though as an academic researcher I believe that I fully qualify for a waiver), I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Good morning Ms. McCammon,

This is in response to your e-mail below requesting status of FOIA request 16-F-1447. Please note that your request is closed in this office. This office sent a response to you on August 29, 2016 asking that you narrow the scope and provide more specific information so that professional employees familiar with the subject matter can locate responsive information with a reasonable amount of effort. Broad sweeping requests lacking specificity are insufficient; and, even where a request sufficiently describes the records sought, an agency is not required to comply with a request so broad that it would impose an unreasonable burden upon the agency. Since this office did not receive a response from you by the requested date, September 30, 2016, it was determined that you were no longer interested and closed your request.
